Look For Less: Angela Simmons Edition

We're going to start with a Angela Simmons-esq look which I've titled "Carefree Chic," for this post. Angela's sense of style reminds me of an updated Valley girl. I love how her clothes are playful but, sexy at the same time. On top of that, I really adore the fact she never goes overboard with trends which happens a lot with celebrities.

To achieve this look, I chose all recession-conscious pieces:
1.) The t-shirt is a simple $20 t-shirt from ASOS. It's a jersey fabric and contains simple, metallic detailing which adds flare to a simple t-shirt.
2.) Angela clearly has the Chanel bag in her photo but, in an effort to keep the "look for less," I chose a simple quilted, over sized shopper bag. It's has the gold chains reminiscent of Angela's bag, but with a lower price tag of $47 from ASOS as well.
3.) The necklace is a simple, layered pearl necklace. It has the multi-stranded, long line design and iridescent pearl finish. This necklace could be picked up at your local vintage shop or forever 21 for merely $10.
4.) You have a faceted bangle by Oasis. It has the all-over stone embellishment and triangular cut finish that accents the beautiful shade of green. For a price of $26 your sure to turn heads with this beauty.
5.) You have simple, vintage washed denim that includes the ever-popular all over rip detailing. Depending on the label or look, you could get these for around $60 at your local urban outfitters.
6.) Angela chose a simple head band but, I'm not a stickler for head bands so I chose a simple pink beanie that gives the same effect. You could find a beanie similar to this for the L-O at forever 21 or your local wal-mart.
7.) In the shoe department I thought I'd give you two options. The first one to the left is a leather cut-out shoe by Kurt Geiger. Priced at $237, you have a purple, chunky platform with a nice peep toe detail. I know this shoe is pricey but, compared to Angela's $767 redbottoms these are a steal. The shoe on the right is a strappy leather sandal by Faith. It includes a nice crossover design, peep toe, front platform and stiletto heel for the cheaper price of $118.

Gift Idea For Those Special Men In Your Life

I've taken the hassle out of finding those perfect gift for the special men in your life. As a guy who finds it hard to shop for my dad and brother, I've found some options that offer the versatility necessary for Christmas gifts. Below, I've included those options for you to consider when picking out those last minute gifts for your dad, boyfriend, uncle or even little brother. As I've said in my earlier post, I don't claim to be the best, but these are some sickening prototypes for you to play with. Consider this a gift from me to you :)!

1.) You have a hand knitted jumper from Reiss 1971. It's composed of a Bold fairisle design and thick ribbed trim and accentuated with a funnel neck and button-through placket. This is the perfect sweater for your dad. It's simple yet, modern. It reminds me of those old sweaters my dad use to wear but, updated. Were coining this as the 2010 Dad sweater.
2.) Option 2 is composed of a textured wool mix knit shawl jumper. It has an all over cable knit pattern and includes the ribbed shawl neck that is very popular this season. This sweater is very versatile and could be worn by your dad, brother or uncle. Since it's a simple shape and color, it allows your significant others a lot of options when it comes to wear.
3.) This sweater is for the trendy, brother type. It's a Diesel, double-breasted, chunky cardigan. The material is cotton which is great for the cold weather and it includes a hood which is great for formal or informal wear. Although Diesel tends to be pricey, this is a cardigan your significant other would have for years to come.
4.) The last sweater is for the quirky, trendy type in your life. It's a patterned knit cardigan by Henrik Vibskov. It's a ribbed trim cardigan with a deep, v-neckline and button through front. I was initially attracted to this cardigan because of it's vibrant, abstract design and immaculate color palette. It's bold, unique and a one of a kind piece which is important when choosing a new piece for your wardrobe.

1.) Bag 1 is a Polo Ralph Lauren canvas messenger bag. It has twin-buckled straps, contrast trim and the versatility to be transformed into a fold-over bag.
2.) Bag 2 is a leather tote by Reiss Fawley. It's composed of buckle-side trims and contrast stitching. In addition to the stitching, it has a fold-over front and twin grab handles.
3.) Bag 3 is a leather despatch bag by the ever-popular Reiss. It's messenger style and includes a removable, cross body strap and fold-over design with twin buckles.
4.) Bag 4 is a soft leather tote bag by Bill Amberg. It includes twin handles and an across the body strap. It has twin buckle straps and an embrossed logo.

It's all about options people!!

The Perfect Christmas Ensemble

With Christmas quickly approaching, I thought I'd do a post featuring some nice Christmas inspired ensembles. Everyone knows once you've open all your gifts and spent a little time with the fam it's nothing else to do, but party! All the pieces in this post are perfect, party pieces for any fashion connoisseur! Starting with the look above, you have a satin, bandeau dress with the bandeau, ruffled top and fitted body. It also has wonderful, pleated detailing on the skirt. When it comes to accessories, I chose a simple pair of black and gold drop earrings. I like the drop earrings because their poised yet play on the accents of the clutch. The shoe is a leather, platform boot that is risky yet not over-bearing. Throw some black tights on and your ready to tip right on out the door!
Now, on to the second look, you have a red, satin, pencil dress with over sized, frill cap sleeves. The dress has a rounded neckline which gives it that element of sophistication. In the accessories department, I chose a simple, black, zig-zag clutch and paired it with a funky neck piece. I felt this piece was quirky but, in a sexy kind of way. I fell in love with the shoe because of it's chunky platform and high stiletto heel. Not to add, the lace and beautifully, rounded heel.
Now, I know all my female readers aren't into the whole "dress" aesthetic so I wanted to push the boundaries of androgyny with this fit. I opted for a simple, black tailored blazer with the feather detailing at the top. Underneath you have a black, sequin tank dress that I paired with a some red tights. I chose a leather, knee high, platform boot for the shoe because their really big this season and played on the red tights very well.
You heard of that saying "save the best for last," well this outfit is the epitome of that statement. You have an angora mix tunic jumper with bold, leather structured shoulders. I paired it with some black and gold button earrings and a pair of the ever-popular liquid leggings. To add fuel to the fire, I chose a soft leather boot with a chunky platform and elegant stiletto heel. As if that's not enough, it has a beautiful tie detailing on the side and fold-down, top design which allows you to play with the versatility of the boot.

With that said, I challenge you to create the perfect holiday fit this season. You've got the material. It's up to you to T-I-P!
